Frank Op de Woerd on Bahigo Casino

Zurich, 8 November 2026. Put CHF 100 beside a casino bonus card and my first thought is probably not the one the banner wants. How do I get the money out again? I am Frank Op de Woerd, a Dutch poker journalist and editor. That slightly awkward question is where my Bahigo coverage begins.

I came here through poker reporting, not by writing casino slogans. I now spend part of the year in Switzerland and test casinos from there. The habits travel well: read the rules, watch the bankroll and do not let a pleasing result talk you out of asking how it happened.

Why I still look at casinos like a poker reporter

Poker got my attention in 2005. What stayed with me was the gap between making a good decision and winning the hand. You can play badly and get paid. You can make the sensible choice and lose. Annoying? Certainly. But it is a useful antidote to judging a casino by one happy session.

I studied New Media & Digital Culture at Utrecht University, then worked with PokerNews.nl and PokerNews.com from the late 2000s. At the 2017 WSOP, I led PokerNews.com's live reporting. I am also co-founder and editor-in-chief of CasinoNieuws.nl. That is the background I bring to these pages, not a reason you should accept every claim without checking it.

“Show me the rule behind the result. Then we can talk about what it means.”

That habit follows me from the poker table to Bahigo. Watch what happened, keep the evidence separate from the explanation, and resist the temptation to sell a lucky outcome as a repeatable method. Variance has a wicked sense of humour; it does not need a copywriter helping it along.

What I look for when examining Bahigo

I start with the account and conditions a reader would actually face. A public offer is not automatically the offer in your cashier. I keep public pages, logged-in conditions and third-party reports separate, because mixing them produces confident answers to the wrong questions. I cannot see inside another player's account or invent access to a private VIP tier.

  1. I look at the footer and terms at sign-up to identify the contracting entity. I want readers to check the version in front of them too.
  2. Before liking a bonus headline, I look for its bonus card, payment routes and verification requirements. Support information gets a read as well.
  3. I separate what I can observe from reported payment times. An arithmetic example stays an example, rather than becoming a transaction I supposedly completed.

Take CHF 100. It is a useful amount for explaining playthrough, but moving it around in an example proves nothing about a real payout. I need a test record before claiming a completed withdrawal, timed deposit or support exchange. If you are reading this in Geneva, Basel or Zug, you deserve that distinction, not a colourful scene I cannot substantiate.

What earns a score, and what does not

My ratings are editorial judgements, not measurements taken in a laboratory. I weigh the rules against payments, verification and support, alongside the practical business of using the site. None of that predicts your next session. Third-party scores keep their own labels too; I do not stir incompatible scales together and call the average objective.

Bahigo has no Swiss licence. Swiss law permits only Swiss-licensed online casinos, and foreign sites can face ESBK/Gespa listing and ISP blocks. There are Swiss-licensed casino brands, plus lottery operators such as Swisslos. For someone living here, that distinction belongs near the start of the discussion, not hidden behind an attractive offer.

I cannot promise access, a particular account decision or a payout time. Being familiar with poker does not remove the house edge either. Sometimes the most useful answer I can give you is an unsatisfying one: I still cannot establish that. I would rather leave the question open than dress a guess up as a finding.

Got a correction or a question for me?

Use the contact links on this profile and tell me which Bahigo page you mean. Quote the statement you think is wrong and include the evidence behind your correction. I welcome that. It gives me something concrete to check, rather than leaving both of us arguing about whether a page feels too positive or too harsh.

I cannot reopen an account or promise compensation. What I can do is keep returning to the question behind that imagined CHF 100: which condition changes what you can actually withdraw? If my coverage fails to answer it clearly, tell me where. That is a much better conversation than asking you to trust a byline and leave it there.
